“Character”                                                                         

char-ac-ter: moral excellence and firmness, one of the attributes that make up and distinguished an individual.

What is the thing that you remember most about people? For most of us it is what the person has done or how they reacted to a situation. How they react and what they do is a result of their character. Character is what makes a person who they are. Character will show through no matter what the situation. People aren’t fooled by false character they know who you really are.

What defines your character? Your morals or what you believe and stand for shape your character and who you will be in live. Religious beliefs can develop convictions that will create a path for you to follow. The people that you chose to surround yourself with also shape your character because we often have a habit of doing the same things our friends do. It is important to choose the right type of people to be around.

Character makes you the person you are and it is one thing that people will always see. Character is one of the most important things when looking at the relationships you have.  Character gives you the strength to be comfortable in your own skin if you are the person you have worked hard to create. Character makes a leader.

The most significant statement made was about character and who you are and what other see you as. This impacts me right now by showing that in my last year that I have a good character to leave this high school with. For the future my character will show others in college who have never met me, the person I am new to them and later on help me get a job. I think I need to change now is my attitude sometimes.

Speaker

Yesterday we had a guest speaker and she said to do what you want to do with your life. She also talked about what to do and say when you go to interviews. In this town everyone know everybody and everyones business too. Think about your future she also said. Have individualism and be you. Integrity is number one and to have honesty,decency, courage and consistancy. Have and open dialogue snf exchange different points of you. Share and be kind in your job.

Timming is Everthing

Life might not always happen the way you want it to. Give everything you best 100%. Actions speak louder than words. All things happen for a reason and go with it. Leaders sometimes get caught up in one certain thing, dont, dont forget about the small people. The impact you make on people lives is more important than money and being popular. Dont not give something your everthing then later regret that you didnt give enough. You dont want to go though life having regrets. Make an impact in one persons life and it could make a difference.

Bullying

Bullying is never the answer to anything. Putting someone else down to make yourself feel better about yourself is just sick. Treat people the way you want to be treated. The things you say could haunt the kid for the rest of their life and have a negative effect on them and their life. If you have nothing nice to say then dont say it at all, just walk away and dont even waste your time trying to be mean and put them down. Life is too short, dont waste your time being mean and making other suffer. God loves everyone and in his eyes were al the same. Just worry about yourself and treat other nicely and you will go futher in life because of it.

School Spirit

Our school spirit is somewhat low. The attendence at most activites is very low except for football. Which I believe is all our school really truly cares about. Most had problems with finding a ride to the game and the cost to get into the games. Some also said that they did not go to the activities because their friends would not be there. The spirit seems to decrease as the grade levels go up and then when you become a senior it goes back up again. Some underclassmen were also somewhat "scared" or didnt feel comfortable going to the games because of upperclassmen.

Take Chances

Life is full of many different things. Laughter, happiness, sarrow, regret, twists and turns. Life is like a rollor coaster. There are ups and there are downs. Take life by the horns and do something with yours. Dont be a stick in the mud always standing back, back behind someone or something. Take risks and do what you love. Dont let others stop you. Dont sweat the small stuff and just LIVE. Dont ever have regrets in life. In the end you can never go back and you will NEVER know when your life will end and you will get the chance to make a difference. Life is too chort to worry about the people who dont matter. Love and recieve love. Life without love is not life at all. Its a waste of life.

Mr. Ritchie

Mr. Ritchie talked about how he thinks a leader should be in his speaking yesterday. He had some daily keys that he likes to go by, positive talk, never forget where you came from, relationships, lead by example, what do you stand for/character, and to be the best at what you do! On the positive outlook he said being thankful and greatful for what you have and not the material things in life. In where you come from be thankful because there is no other place like it. It make you who you are and you should always remember it. Relationships, its all about the people. Build a relationship with almost everyone and that will help you strive and be a better person in life. Life is NOTHING without relationships with others. A life without love is not life at all. To lead by example, you cant ask people what you would not do yourself. Have a good character and stand for something stong and dont be a Fake. Know yourself and know your strengths and weakness. Character comes first. Think about who you hang out with and protray you image with. Good things happen to good people. Karma I believe will come and get those who cheated life. Have the power to choose and choose the right thing.

Being Thankful

I forgot to blog about what I am thankful for before break. I am so grateful for my family, without them I would be no where. They have made me who I am today. I appreciate everything they have and keep doing for me. I am also thankful for the friends I have. They are all great and unique in their own way. I am also thankful for having God in my life and have a strong faith and a church to go to. I am also very thankful for my grandma and grandparents, because without them I wouldn't have parents and would not be here. They are so strong and teach me so much. I am also thankful for spencer. He is such an amazing person. He have changed me for the better, he makes me a better person and I thank God for sending him to me.

life

Some people get 100 years of living. Some only get 14 years or 3 days. You will never know when your last day will be. At the end of your day, when you are laying in your bed, think if I dont wake up in the morning was today a wonderful last day? Did I do eveything to the fullest? Did I tell the people that I love how much I truly love them? Did I be the best person I could have been? In life there are many questions. Many you will never know or find out. We have to wait until the end to find out many questions and get the true answers. Live each day like it is your last. Life is too short to worry over the little things. So tell the people you love how much you truly love them.

Humble

In life there are many ways to protray your self. You can be fake, have many different side that come out around different people. Which happens all the time. People are rude and say mean things to make them self feel better and bring other people down. You can be mute and never say or really do anything. You can be crazy and energetic and fun. Which can be wonderful at times and at other times be "too" much. You can be truly kind and have a 100% caring heart. In like everyone need to be somewhat humble. Be not so proud or arrogant. Life is too short to be anything but yourself and being the best self you can be.

Aaron speaker guy

Thursday we had aaron thomas come and speak to our school. He was an amazing speaker. What he said truly got to me. The message was to not forget where you came from and bring a little bit of williamsburg to where ever you go. Also that what kind of legacy you are leaving behind and what kind of person you portray yourself as. I hope that I protray my self well. I hope to where ever I go to college I will bring a little of williamsburg to where ever I go. He brought out the best in everyone and thats something a leader does.

This is mine and i believe that all people should have one to live and plan their life by. In life it is good to have a plan and to go on the right path. See the glass half full instead of half empty. Life like I have said is what we make it. 

Put #1 First

In life there are things that are top on you list. People who are top on your list. You should put them or that first. You never know what can happen in life and when your last day will be. So hurry and do and put the most important first because you never know what is going to happen. You dont want to not put it first over something befor the least important and the little things that dont matter. Never sweat the small stuff. Life is what we make it and how we react to it. Make everyday count and important.

Start with the End in Mind

This week we are talking about having the end in mind first. If you kow what you want at the end of your life then you will have a clear path to follow and stay on to reach your goal. There will be bumbs and people along the way but all you have to do is overcome them and keep you goal in mind to pass them. In life its all about how you make it. Having the clear goal of what you want in the end will help you stay on the right path of life and help you will all of lifes difficulties.

20-80

We read part two of the leadership book. It was about the 20-80 principle. In life if you apply 20% then the other 80 you will have a better outlook on. Leadership I believe will not work this way. i think you need to apply all 100% and put in everything to get anything out of life and in leadership. Success all depends on what you put into it. You can't have it all but you can try to have the best. Too many priorities over fills us and we can't do our best. So try on everything you do and give you very best!

The Will

In order to change what you want/need to be changed you need to have the "will" the desire to change. That comes from inside and comes from YOU. No one else can change you. You have to put forth the effort and work hard. In life you have to want to be the better person, the better friend, the better golfer, the better sister, it all depends on you. No one else can do it for you. You have to work hard and it may take a long time, it may take a short time. In life it all depends on your attitude also. A bad one will give off a bad vibe and make no one want to be around you. A positive one will create a good vib and make people like you and want to be around you. Life is what you make it.

Speaker Ashly/ Core Values

Leadership she defined it as the ability to guide and or command to reach a common purpose or goal. Core values she defined them as the moral doctrine, values, support system, and outta site outta mi9nd. The first follower is the first person to stand up and belive in you and follow you. Stand up for what you believe in she told us and to never give up. She also said its mot what you have, its who you know. I find that to be 100% ture in this world. Having connections will get you places and help you succed. Pick your values and stand by them, find similiarties in other and connect. Take initiave and become a leader someone respected and worth following. You are never too small to make an inpact. You dont take a chance you dont stand a chance she said to us.

Guest speaker

Tomorrow we will have a guest speaker. We have not had one in a long time. I am excited to see who is coming tomorrow. People come and go but a true leader will leave an impression in you forever! Leadership is something valued by many people looking for workers and students everywhere. Life will throw you many tasks and a true leader will handle them and make the situation better.

Movie

This week we watched and annalized the movie The Pursuit of Happiness. The main character has to over come many life difficulties. He wants a better life for himself and his son. His son is his world and light though all the darkness. He never gives up and is professional though all his troubles. He reaches bottom and still never gives up. He continues through everything. He still continues to try and make a better life for him and his son. He goes the extra mile to try and get a new and better job. He ends up doing everything possible and reaches his goal. He creates friendship with important people ad that gets him places. He is determined even when the light at the end of his tunnel was no where near.

Future

Being a senior makes me think about my future all the time. Also having my senior night last night for volleyball makes it ever more real. Next year is college and I am so excited. New place, new people, adventures, being all on my own, and possibly college golf. I either want to go to Central or Simpson. Either one i hope to play college golf for. Think about where is go and what to do is such a huge decision. It scares me to think about what I want to do for the rest of my life. Being a senior is great but I'm am ready for bigger and better things. I want all future seniors to live it up and do everything. College will be the best four years of my life!

Standing Up

When being a leader you need to stand up for what you believe in. Even when no one is standing behind you. Like the one speaker said leadership starts in the dark, alone. You can't always have people behind you but it doesn't mean your not doing the right thing. Don't follow in someone else's footsteps. As a leader you know what is right and stick to it and you NEED to stick to it. Leaders make their own path, they don't follow the ones already made. Stand up and make a change. Be the change.

Speeches

This week we had our class do leadership speeches. We had some on drinking and driving. I personally believe that no one should ever, ever drink and drive. Another one was texting and driving. On that situation I feel like that is a huge issue. I will admit that I have done it. It needs to stop with not only me but others because it kills. There was diet supplements. Some i believe are good and can help. The other ones are nothing but hurtful. Mine was on four way to talk to someone when you are in a fight.

Speaker

Ernie yesterday was my favorite speaker of all so far. What he said really got to me and i understood what he said. No fear of failure is a leadership quaility and pride is an inner qualitity. If it is left unchecked it can destroy a person. He said leadership begins in the dark, with your self. Thats very true. Leaders that have character leave a longer impression and impact on people and the world. focus on the external points and you wont be a good leader he said. Base your life on you morals like, trust, hardwork, and have humility. Have respect for others and you will get morals back from others. Leadership must be earned.

Frame

In my frame I had in my four corners was hope, love, faith, and fait. I believe in life in order for it to be fulfilling you need to have someone to share it with. That is love, life is nothing without having someone to experence it with. With hope you need to have hope for all things you do. I also believe that you should look to God to help you with everthing in life. With faith you will have a path to follow if you ever get lost and need help, look to God. I believe that everthing in life happens for a reason. Fait is something everything and everyone shoould have in life.

From the guest speakers..

Leaders come in all shapes and sizes. They show leadership in many different ways. A leader makes strong bonds and gains people's trust. Leaders build relationships with other people and get to know them and in return they let others know about them. Life is 90 percent on how you react and 10 percent is what you can't control. Life is about the choices you make and what is thrown at you and how you react to it. Things happen for a reason and leaders make the best out of it. Out of every situation they try their hardest. Life is what you make it. No one can start things for you, you have to do it yourself.

what influences how I see things...

In life God influences me on how I see certain things in life. I see if the things are morally correct. If they are against my religion. Also on how this makes me show my self to others. In life also my family influences me. I think how would my parents or brother and sister handle this. I think back about all the wonderful things my parents have toughed me. I think about whats right and whats wrong and try and do the best thing. I am also influenced on how I see things by my attitude. I want to see things in a positive way and have a good attitude. To make a better outcome.

In being a leader you need to see a wide view of everything. There are many different views and opinions. You need to have an open mind and help everyone. Leaders can learn from other and take it in a good way and be coachable. they communicate with everyone and make it work.

In leadership there are many pro's and con's. There is also a lot of pressure in keeping everything straight and kept well. There are frustrations and concerns. You always want to do the right thing and be seen as a good person.

What I Think A Leader Is...

A leader is someone who moves people. They makes other want to be better, a better person, a better being. A leader is stong and willing. They dont give up easily and alwways strive to be and do their best. Leaders are never judgemental nor jealous. They strive everyday to make a diffference or a change. they combine people to create a common goal. Other can rely on them and gave confidence in them.
